How to Choose the Right Hot Water Boiler for a Cold-Pressed Avocado Oil Processing Plant
Why Does an Avocado Oil Factory Need a Hot Water Boiler?
Cold-pressed avocado oil is widely recognized for its superior nutritional value and premium quality. Although the oil extraction process avoids high temperatures to preserve nutrients, hot water still plays an essential role in several production stages.
A reliable hot water boiler ensures stable production, improves extraction efficiency, and maintains hygienic operating conditions throughout the processing line.
Hot Water Applications in Avocado Oil Production
1. Fruit Washing
Fresh avocados are washed before processing to remove dirt, dust, and microorganisms. Warm water improves cleaning efficiency and helps maintain food safety standards.
2. Pulp Heating (Malaxation)
After peeling and crushing, avocado pulp is slowly mixed to allow small oil droplets to combine into larger ones, improving oil separation efficiency.
Most processing lines maintain the pulp temperature between 40°C and 60°C using a hot water jacket or heat exchanger. A stable hot water supply helps achieve higher oil yield while preserving oil quality.
3. CIP (Clean-in-Place) System
Food processing equipment requires frequent cleaning to ensure hygiene and prevent contamination. Hot water is commonly used in CIP systems for tanks, pipelines, heat exchangers, and processing equipment.
Recommended Boiler Capacity
The boiler size depends on the production capacity and total hot water demand of the factory.
Typical recommendations are shown below.
| Processing Plant Size | Recommended Hot Water Boiler |
|---|---|
| Small Plant | 350 kW |
| Medium Plant | 500 kW |
| Large Plant | 700 kW |
| Industrial Production Line | 1 MW or above |
