Methods of boiler’s shutdown maintenance

According to the length of the boiler’s shutdown, the maintenance of the boiler can be divided into thermal maintenance, wet maintenance and dry maintenance. Thermal maintenance is applicable to hot standby; wet maintenance is suitable for short term;for more than a month of long-term shutdown of the furnace we usually use dry maintenance.

Thermal maintenance

For hot water boiler,we should maintain the certain pressure on 0.05-0.1Mpa, to make the temperature higher than 100℃above and do not content of oxygen, and pressure inner can prevent outside air from entering into the boiler barrel. In order to keep the temperature of the boiler water, the steam of the boiler can be used to heat the boiler water. This method is generally used for hot standby boiler or the stop time is not more than one week of the boiler.

Wet maintenance ​

Wet maintenance utilizes a certain concentration of alkaline solution to contact the surface of the metal surface, so that the metal surface to form a protective membrane to prevent metal corrosion.In winter,we should prevent the freezing of the water in the pot.

Dry maintenance​

Dry maintenance is to exploit Desiccant to absorb moisture keeping the boiler metal dry, to prevent the boiler corrosion.Usually we make use of lime or anhydrous calcium chloride as the desiccant. Practice has proved that the dry anti-corrosion maintenance effect is satisfactory.It can be used in any type of boiler for a long time maintenance.
